Roger Firestone

Born (b.1949) in Harrisburg, PA in a family of artists and educators Firestone attributes his passion for painting from his fathers teachings and motivation. He has an extensive resume in art education and media studies at Kutztown University, University of the Arts, a fellowship at R.I.T. and research over a three year period at Dartmouth College studying and archiving over four thousand plates from the estate of American illustrator Maxfield Parrish and has taught in the art education profession for over 35 years. 

Firestone is a member of the Portrait Society of America, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Watercolor Society, and has been a associate member of the Salmagundi Club, and SML Arts Council in VA. Art Association of Harrisburg, PA and other related organizations. He has lived in Abiquiu, NM where he has worked out of his studio for eight years and on the studio tour council in the area. 

Firestone continues painting full time and has received numerous awards and recognition in both international and regional juried exhibitions. 

He continues to travel extensively for subject content and field studies and is currently working on his latest studies that reflect his recent travels to China and Cuba.
