Caryn Coville

Caryn Coville

Caryn Coville is a New York-based artist who holds a B.F.A. from Rochester Institute of Technology. She finds inspiration from nature, her travels, and everyday objects. Her realistic paintings start with a line drawing and while using a heated drawing board, she begins the process of applying pigment. Working with a light touch, she slowly builds up and blends the color, sometimes adding up to twenty layers.

While Caryn is primarily a colored pencil artist, she has enjoyed extending her artistry into other mediums. For the past several years she has enjoyed East Asian brush painting.

Caryn’s work is featured in numerous art publications including: Colored Pencil Society of America's To The Point magazine (June 2020, January 2020, June 2018, June 2017, January 2016, June 2015, January 2014); International Artist magazine, Oct./Nov. 2019; Richeson75 Still Life & Floral 2019, 2017 & 2016 exhibit catalogs; CP Treasures - Colored Pencil Masterworks from Around the Globe, Volumes II, III, IV, V, VI; Richeson75 Animals, Birds & Wildlife 2018 & 2017 exhibit catalogs; Ann Kullberg's Color magazine (May 2019, July 2017, June 2017) and Strokes of Genius 8: Expressive Textures, The Best of Drawing.
