The granite outcroppings of the northern Great Lakes region have always fascinated me. These smooth contours seem like giant sea serpents floating just below the water's surface.

My reason to submit this one was the singular feeling the centre trees invoked. While we are all together in the Covid challenges, individually, the pines move and sway with the environment's demands yet their footings are firmly anchored within the granite giving hope that they will endure whatever the elements throw at them.
