I developed my painting series for helping people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and the depressed persons by hiking several parks and woods to find a new subject matter.
Using “Light” as the subject matter in my paintings it has provoked the imagination to a place of peace for individuals suffering with these situations. I had noticed when I passed an area that had dramatic light it gave me the peaceful feeling I was looking for in a painting. Normally a classical artist, I changed my dark muted hues to bight contemporary ones because it was the high chroma that attracted people to these euphoric feelings. I have had several people tell me that they feel a closeness with loved ones or invoking a sense of meditation for relaxation. I wanted to give a feeling of serenity and hope to people during COVID especially during these tough times.
Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to share.
