With more time spent at home this spring, I have been taking the time to think and explore what "home" means to me. My paintings tend to reflect my thoughts and that is certainly the case now, as I find myself drawn to paint landscapes that reflect the places where I find joy and comfort.
This painting is titled "Return to Home". It represents a return to what feeds my soul ... wide open spaces and meandering creeks that invite us to wander. These spaces encourage us to be comfortable exploring our thoughts and enjoying a stillness from worry and stress.
I guess no matter where I live, I will always be a farm girl at heart and those landscapes that make me feel "small", under a great big sky, will always make me feel alive and at peace with my place in the world.
