Two autumns ago, my husband John and I planted one hundred daffodil bulbs in anticipation of glorious spring bloom. They didn’t disappoint! With COVID-19 canceling so much this year, the arrival of these beauties served as a reminder of all that was NOT canceled. What we hadn’t anticipated were the three hard freezes that came after their blooming. One night, John hastily picked this bouquet as a means to enjoy their beauty should the frost cull the rest. The frost did its damage, but John won the day! I painted these daffodils as a tribute to the resilience God gives His children in troubled times.
