My work is usually sculptural live edge wood paintings that focus on the ephemeral permanence of ocean waves. In this painting, I worked on the more traditional substrate of the masonite panel. The goal was to make one feel the warmth of the sun kissing the wave’s crest and the undeniable chill of the wave’s shadow and the weight of the oncoming wave the moment before it comes crashing down. During today’s unprecedented times, I wanted to share a painting of mine that reflects the turbulence I have been experiencing when surrounded by undifferentiated chaos.
