My wife and I go for runs often throughout the summer. After a run towards the end of the week, we like to enjoy a drink outside in my wife’s garden. This painting was painted depicting our kitchen the day before we left for what would be a memorable trip to Europe. The painting shows our kitchen right after my wife made both of us some refreshing post-run drinks. Everything from the two coffee cups (the blue one is my wife’s and the green one is mine) to the french press reminds me of the summer and reminds me of traveling with her. These days it is something we’ve dearly missed during this pandemic. That being said, every time I look at this painting it fills me with the hope that we’ll be toasting to our embarking or returning from a trip together soon.
