At the beginning of 2020, I had a flurry of painting sales. I was at the height of my career. Then, as COVID-19 cases grew, there was an abrupt halt. I found it difficult to paint for several months, lacking motivation and feeling a sense of despair. I was concerned for myself and my family. I finally found my way back into my studio and began working on some abstract pieces. Now seascapes with moody skies seem to be beckoning me. This particular landscape, Hilton Head Island, expresses hope for the future as the warm evening sun makes its way through the clouds to be reflected onto the wet beach. In a small way, I hope to elevate other's spirits.
