Me and six plein air painters went to Goshen Pass, on the Maury River outside of Lexington, Virginia this past October 1. We were very excited to see each other and come together to paint at this wonderful place, where we have painted before, but now on this beautiful fall day. With COVID-19 these past seven months, few of us had been able to paint together. Everyone gave air hugs to each other, and we set up our painting sites social distancing apart, of course.
It had rained recently, so the water was higher than we realized, and the trees were just starting to turn. I LOVE this spot and started working on my 15” x 30” painting. We were happy to be together doing the thing we loved best, plein air painting! We broke for a group lunch and a few photos, which I have posted on my Instagram. We kept painting all afternoon, some starting new paintings. I was happy with how my painting turned out, and only did a small amount additionally in my studio.
