I chose this model pose because of the ongoing events taking place now in the US. It mirrors my own anxiety in trying to deal with our amazing lack of organization in dealing with a pandemic and the lack of common human decency in this country. I used arbitrary color to represent the tension and fear many of us feel and smeared parts with the background to represent the effects of our toxic environment. The figure is nude because that in itself signifies vulnerability and underscores the fact that our leaders care nothing about our well being. This piece is meant to represent the shame of human behavior motivated by greed, individualized behavior, and bigotry.
