Events and shows in my area started shutting down in mid-March. At first, I thought this "flatten the curve" endeavor would only last a few weeks. By the time late April rolled around, I realized that the art world had changed drastically. Isolation is not a new situation for me. I spend days and even weeks creating art by myself in the studio. However, when I realized that there would be no social gathering and sharing, I felt such a loss. I painted this larger piece from a plein air study created on a trip I took to Lake Wawasee, Indiana. It serves as a memory of that trip and gives hope to future travels to scenic spots.
