During the inception of COVID-19, many Americans were removed from logic and turned to fear. In this act of despair, the finger was pointed at whoever was believed to be the culprit behind this vicious virus. In my experience as a Black American, I’ve watched our race become a scapegoat for almost every component that was attached to the spread of COVID-19. Even in the act of taking full precautions, many Americans look to us as what police would call a 10-66: suspicious persons.
